There Is Nothing Wrong With Your Television Set

Censorship is alive and well across the globe. The Guardian has collected some interesting examples of what is and isn't allowed on TV in different countries. These include: No TV at all on Thursday's in Iceland, to banning makeup for newscasters in Turkmenistan. The world is a bigger village than some would have us think.

nothing wrong with a little censorship. honestly, do you want to hear what everyone is saying? the truth can suck ass sometimes.

also, is not wearing makeup censorship? you still get the news right?

Well I have to agree that controlling the media's wearing of makeup might not be censorship, but once you start interfering, where do you stop?

dude, don't use the slippery slope argument. we are capable of free will and i think there are enough checks and balances in society where censorship wouldn't go to an extreme. you yourself have thought of some things that could happen but have they? no, and thats because we are able to draw the line in the sand...even though i will admit it moves from time to time.
